About Our WebsiteWelcome to the Bold Venture Website. Originally it was created to promote our half bison bull. Since then it’s grown and expanded into one of the most comprehensive sites for information on Bison Hybrids, Beefalo, and other bison heritage cattle.
We launched boldventure.info in mid-2006. Since then we have been amazed at the number of “hits” (visits) our site has received. In 2008, between April and September, we started averaging 300 “hits” per day, 9,000 hits per month!
The best reason I can give for this interest is that we used a fresh new approach emphasizing the results cattlemen could achieve by infusing bison genetics into their herds. As part of that approach, we created the term “Bison blend” to describe these cattle, keeping us from being relegated into a stereotypical classification of “Beefalo, Cattalo or Hybrid” breeders.
At the same time, we also discovered that to promote our bull, we generally had to educate people to the true facts about bison blends, dispelling old myths, misconceptions, and downright lies about using bison genetics. Soon the site was expanded, filling pages with a wealth of information on biso-composite cattle. Our picture gallery was expanded from a few snapshots to a whole series of photos. And, most importantly we also sold some semen along the way creating a whole new bloodline of cattle that we expect will add value and profit for their owners.
The side benefits of this website include making friends with cattlemen throughout the world, seeing a renewed interest in the Beefalo breed, and becoming a valuable source of information to those interested in using bison genetics.
